Run Quick Polish vs whole-document proofread

Pick the right proofread surface in monolingual mode — single paragraph, the paragraph at your cursor, or the whole document.

Skrebe gives you three ways to ask the model to clean up your Kriolu draft. Use this page to pick the right one for what you're doing right now.

Quick Polish — one paragraph (✦ gutter)

Use Quick Polish when you're already inside a paragraph and want it fixed without losing your place.

  1. Hover the left edge of the paragraph.
  2. Click the button that appears in the gutter.
  3. Accept span by span with the inline / mini buttons, or click the paragraph for a popover with Accept / Dismiss for the whole paragraph.

Best for: a single rough paragraph, a fresh edit you just made, a passage you keep re-reading.

Proofread ▾ → Selection — the paragraph at your cursor

Same scope as Quick Polish (one paragraph), but driven from the toolbar instead of the gutter.

  1. Place your cursor anywhere in the paragraph you want to polish.
  2. Click Proofread ▾ in the header.
  3. Pick Selection — Just the paragraph with your cursor.

Best for: keyboard-first editing, when your hand is already on the toolbar's register selector, or when the gutter is off-screen.

Proofread ▾ → Whole document — review what's changed

Use Whole document when you're reviewing a finished draft top-to-bottom.

  1. Click Proofread ▾ in the header.
  2. Pick Whole document — Review every paragraph in the right rail.

Despite the menu label, Skrebe actually skips paragraphs you've already marked reviewed (unless you've edited them since), so re-running Whole document only surfaces what's actually new. The right rail opens with one card per remaining change. Walk it with the keyboard (j/k to move, y/n to act) or use the Accept all / Reject all buttons in the rail header.

Press ⌘⇧A / Ctrl+Shift+A to toggle a paragraph's reviewed mark by hand — useful if you want a fresh pass over something Skrebe would otherwise skip.

Best for: end-of-draft polish, second-pass review, hand-off prep.

Pick the run options first (optional)

The Proofread ▾ menu also has a Run options section. These apply to the next run only — they don't persist across documents.

OptionWhen to change it
Register: Neutral / Formal / InformalDefault is Neutral. Pick Formal for written notices; Informal for chat-shaped text.
Skip style rewritesOn = the model only fixes ALUPEC + clear errors and skips voice/flow suggestions. Useful for already-polished drafts.
